Has … come back yet?
Which titles do students ask about the most when they first enter the library?
* Guiness World Records (they can’t take out the 2007 until our 2nd copy arrives so earlier editions are key)
* Origami Paper Animals
* Mighty Robot, Ricky Ricotta, and Captain Underpants
* Pokemon
* Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus
* dragon books
* Pokemon
The students DO know where these books belong, or as we call it “where these books live in the library”, but they have learned that we frantically check in books to put on the carts until we have time to put them away, so the child who asks first might be the winner.
What’s in demand at your library?

Anything “Star Wars” related - cookbooks, ‘making of’ books, etc.. Captain Underpants was big last year, but not so much this (except among the 4th grade!). Drawing books are also big, but often we just don’t have the ones they want (like, how to draw 50 different space monsters). And the dog/cat books are flying off the shelves, at least right now.

Pokemon and Star Wars are hits for us too. Especially the Star Wars Clone Wars Adventures Series, and the Star Wars Cook Book.
Other sought after books in our collection are…
Garfield - I always think, “really? kids still like Garfield?”, but I have so many copies, and it always looks like we don’t own any! In the summer the shelves are overflowing. I even went so far as ordering some in “perma-bound” to make them last longer.
Also the Rainbow Magic Fairies series books have been a huge hit.
