I probably could have gotten more free food but I wasn't that adept at searching it out yet- I found a grocery store and stocked up on fruit, though! If it weren't for the fact a friend let me stay with her, I don't know that I would have been able to go. I also brought lots of snacks with me to the conference. I also tipped rather heavily when I did go out, since I mostly ordered appetizers and soup and not a whole meal.
